West Central Railway Apprentice Recruitment 2025-26: Apply for 2865 Posts

West Central Railway has released Act Apprentice Notification 2025-26 for 2865 posts. Candidates with 10th pass and ITI certificate can apply. This is a big chance for young people looking for training in Indian Railways. WCR Apprentice Recruitment 2025 applications start on 30 August 2025 and close on 29 September 2025.

Regarding the Notification

This notification is being issued as No. 01/2025 dated (25.08.2025) under the Apprentices Act, 1961 for the training session starting in the year 2025-26. The application form will be available only on line, and no other means of submission will be acceptable.The official website for application is www.wcr.indianrailways.gov.in and all candidates must read the notification before applying. This process is completely straightforward and will be fully done online.

Total Vacancies

The total number of apprentice slots is 2865 across divisions and workshops.

  • Jabalpur Division (JBP): 1136 posts
  • Bhopal Division (BPL): 558 posts
  • Kota Division (KOTA): 865 posts
  • CRWS Bhopal: 136 posts
  • WRS Kota: 151 posts
  • Headquarters Jabalpur: 19 posts

These slots cover different trades. Each division has its own list of trades and seats. Annexure A of the notification gives full details.

  • Mechanic (Refrigeration & Air Conditioning): 2
  • Welder (Gas and Electric): 367

Eligibility Requirements

Age Requirements

Age must be at least 15 years (as of 20th August 2025)
Age must be no more than 24 years (as of 20th August 2025)

Relaxation in Age

5 years for SC / ST
3 years for OBC
10 years for Persons with Disabilities
Service time + 3 years for Ex-servicemen

Educational and Technical Qualifications

Applicant must have passed the 10th class with 50% marks
Must possess a National Trade Certificate in the relevant trade from NCVT / SCVT.
Qualifications must have been obtained prior to the date of the notification.
Candidate who are appearing for the examination, are not eligible.

Criteria of PwBD

Candidate who claim to be, is a PwBD, is required to approximately 40% % disability
Candidates claiming they are hearing disbaled, must provide a hearing disability no less than 60 decibels in the better ear.
Candidate must provide a Disability Certificate.

Application Fee

For General / OBC / Others categories: ₹141 (includes processing fees)
For SC / ST / Women / PwBD categories: ₹41 (processing fees only)

All fees must me paid online. Candidates should keep their receipts. In case of bank payment making no payment, candidate can make payment again. If application is incomplete with failed application fee payment, application is not considered.
No refunds will be processed; candidates are responsible for secure and timely processing of payment.

Scanned copies of these document are required before filling application:
Class 10 mark sheet and certificate
ITI Mark Sheet and certificate
Community certificate, if applicable (page 2 is community certificate)
Disability certificate, if applicable
Photograph (passport size which is 100 x 120 pixels, 50 – 200KB, JPG)
Signature (160 x 70 pixels, 50 – 200KB, JPG)

How to Apply

  • Select About Us → Recruitment → Railway Recruitment Cell
  • Click on the link for Engagement of Act Apprentices
  • Fill in the online application form carefully
  • Upload documents, photo, and signature
  • Pay WCR online application fees
  • Submit the application and print the application confirmation page

All the information must be the same as your certificates. Any mismatching may result in cancellation of application. Fill in a valid mobile number and e-mail id; all messages will be sent through SMS or e-mail.

Selection Process

  • Selection will be based on merit list.
  • Marks of 10th class and ITI will average together.
  • The list will be prepared trade-wise, division-wise; and community-wise. In case of equal marks, the older one will be preferred. In case age is also the same, the one who passed matriculation earlier would be preferred.
  • Only shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification.
  • Document verification will occur only at the unit to which you applied, requests to change place of document verification will not be allowed.

Training and Stipend

The selected candidates will be engaged as apprentices under the relevant trade. The training will be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Apprentices Act, 1961.Apprentices would be paid stipend during training at the prescribed rate.No accommodation in hostel will be provided, and candidates will have to arrange for their stay on their own.By the success of training absolvent the apprentices will be trained towards.

Guidelines for Reservation

Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PwBD categories must produce the certificate of caste or disability certificate in the proper format as prescribed by Government of India. OBC certificate should not be older than a year. Ex-servicemen should produce discharge certificate or service certificate. Reservations shall be provided in accordance with the Rule mentioned by the Government, and the rule shall also be applicable to other eligible candidates to fill vacancy in earmarked PwBD reservation category.

Last date to apply- September 29, 2025 (By 23:59 hrs).
